My name is Justin Hansen, and I'm a lucky dog, because I get to contribute to this blog. A bit about me: I'm living in San Antonio, TX, with a wife and 3 kids. I just finished a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy Good stuff. I am a life-long member of the LDS church and I'm thankful for that. Apologetics has been an interest of mine for about 9 years now. While I don't consider myself an expert, I do feel there are true and genuine answers out there, and it is important to make them known and to find them through study, prayer, and faith.
Quotes supporting Apologetics:
As Austin Farrar wrote:
"Though argument does not create conviction, lack of it destroys belief.
What seems to be proved may not be embraced: but what no one shows the ability to defend is quickly abandoned.
Rational argument does not create belief, but it maintains a climate in which belief may flourish."
Elder Neal A Maxwell said this: "Let us be articulate for while our defense of the kingdom may not stir all hearers, the absence of thoughtful response may cause fledglings among the faithful to falter. What we assert may not be accepted, but unasserted convictions soon become deserted convictions."
Jude 1:3 and other scriptures teach us to contend with those who revile the truth. Also see:

The above being said, we must take care to simply show the truth and not allow emotions or contention to boil over. It is not a tool to necessarily convince each person, but to simply re-affirm the truth and let people decide for themselves. This is what I hope to do.
I feel the doctrines and teachings of The LDS Church, and the truths found everywhere are worth preserving, so that is why I feel a burning to defend the truth, be it religious, liberty, or otherwise. I hope to be able to contribute soundly here, and hope to be a positive influence on someone in the course of doing so.
